Biography
Janet enlisted in the Army in 2011 and served as a 15E, Unmanned Aircraft System Repairer. After Airborne scholl, Janet was assigned to the 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne) Group Support Battalion and was the first female solider in 5th SFG(A)’s TUAV platoon. Her military career was cut short because an Oregon court forced her to choose between serving her country or custody of her child. Janet was honorably discharged in 2014.Janet experienced first-hand the frustration of a court’s failure to understand the military experience or apply the protections to which Service members and Veterans are entitled. After discharge Janet enrolled in law school with singular focus to become an attorney who represents veterans in divorce and child custody matters.

Janet joined Northwest Veterans Law in 2018 and has dedicated her practice to protecting veteran rights in divorce and custody matters. Janet is a member of the Oregon State Bar Military and Veterans Law Section, the OSB Family Law Section, and the Marion County Bar Association.
Janet leads our Family Law Section. Janet is passionate and aggressive in defending the rights of Veterans facing divorce and custody.
